Welcome
Hi, I’m Bettina (she/hers) — a nonprofit leader, creative strategist, and community advocate currently serving as CEO of the Downtown Boulder Partnership. I’m passionate about cultivating vibrant, inclusive places that honor culture, spark connection, and support thriving local economies.
About Me
With over 20 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit, creative, and business sectors, I specialize in:
-
Place-based economic development
-
Cultural and arts integration
-
Collaborative community building
-
Organizational strategy & experience design
Previously, I led Downtown SLO in San Luis Obispo (2018–2023), where I championed small business advocacy, cultural programming, and public safety in one of California’s most charming downtowns. Prior to my work in urban place management, I worked as an arts administrator, as Executive Director of Festival Mozaic (2011-2018), as Executive Director of the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region (2007-2010),
and as Summer Arts Festival Manager at Colorado College (2004-2007).
I believe design with an equity lens is essential for empowering communities and achieving lasting impact. My work always centers inclusion, creativity, and thoughtful stewardship.
Current Role
As CEO of Downtown Boulder Partnership, I lead a coalition that includes a 49-block Business Improvement District, a 501(c)(6) nonprofit, and a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Together, we advance the civic, commercial, and cultural vitality of downtown Boulder — preserving its historic soul while imagining its future.
Creative Work
Beyond boardrooms and community forums, I’m also a writer and lover of language. I earned a Bachelor's Degree from Colorado College in Comparative Literature.
Last year, I published a chapbook of poetry called Unlearning Lessons, and I'm currently working on a nonfiction manuscript exploring creativity, belonging, and public life.

I love wordplay, the outdoors, and, in case you're wondering: my favorite Muppet is Cookie Monster.
